Combining my passion for calligraphy AND teaching fills me with joy. A participant on a recent workshop said it was as good as therapy which I take as a huge compliment! When you take a pause from the busyness of life and put pen to paper, you totally lose yourself in creative flow which is so good for body and mind. And once you get the calligraphy bug, not only will your greetings cards and gift tags be gorgeously written but imagine how beautiful your shopping and To Do lists could look!
I hold various workshops throughout Northamptonshire for both adults and children. Learning a new skill alongside your child is really special and it’s so positive to be a beginner in something together. New dates will be posted here and on my Instagram and Facebook pages. Whatever the reason for coming on one of my workshops, the mental health benefits of learning calligraphy (and other creative hobbies) are well documented – it can help relieve stress, free up ‘mind space’ and improve self-development which in turn helps build self-esteem. You don’t need to have good handwriting, or be especially creative, just come with an open mind and let the wonderful world of calligraphy soothe your soul.
